When DOG training ADVICE goes WRONG!

BREAKING NEWS! We want to tell you something really important…

No matter your dog’s BREED, the AGE they are, their training HISTORY or even their colour, size or sex, your dog is NOT:

❌ “Reactive” or “Aggressive”
❌ “Disobedient” or “Untrainable”
❌ “Sniffy” or “Crazy”
❌ “Anxious” or “Beyond hope!”

The reality is, the WORLD is quick to JUDGE and to put LABELS on our dogs – and even on US, as our dog’s proud owner and best advocate. The world might have labels like:

❌ “Staffies are problem dogs”
❌ “You can’t train a sniffy spaniel or a snappy collie”
❌ “Positive reinforcement training doesn’t work for reactive dogs”
❌ “You can only solve pulling on lead or recall struggles with prong or shock collars”
❌ “You can’t train a dog with separation anxiety, they need to get over it”
❌ “You need extreme training methods for big dogs”
❌ “Little dogs are jealous and aggressive because they are small”

It can be so easy to fall into the trap of feeling hopeless and overwhelmed when you have a dog with behaviour struggles, especially if someone has put labels on your dog. The truth is, when the world labels our dogs, we tend to get caught up in the PROBLEM, we feel like there’s NO HOPE and in desperation, we turn to “quick-fix” solutions, punishment, intimidation, force and more (aversive training methods) to try and solve our training “problems”.
