Cooperative Care (includes 10 Days to Happy Handling)
How it works
In 10 Days to Happy Handling, you’ll teach the core skills that make cooperative care possible: focus, stillness, positioning, duration, targeting, and communication. These are the building blocks that help dogs stay calm and engaged during handling.
In Cooperative Care, you’ll use those foundation skills in practical scenarios: grooming, examinations, nail care, equipment introduction, and veterinary-style procedures. Each skill is broken down so your dog can progress gradually and confidently.
Calmer care becomes part of normal life - not a stressful event.

Cooperative Care (includes 10 Days to Happy Handling) Frequently Asked Questions
10 Days to Happy Handling and Cooperative Care are ideal for dog owners who want everyday care to feel calmer, clearer, and more predictable. The learning is suitable for puppies, adult dogs, rescues, and senior dogs - and particularly helpful for dogs who find grooming, handling, or veterinary care difficult.
Not at all. Everything is broken down into small, achievable steps. If you’re new to training, you’ll start with Happy Handling foundations before progressing to Cooperative Care skills.
Lessons range from around 3–12 minutes, and exercises are designed to be practised in short sessions. Most progress happens through small, consistent repetitions woven into everyday life.
You’ll begin to see your dog becoming more comfortable with handling, staying calmer during grooming and examinations, showing clearer communication and engagement and building confidence around equipment and procedures. Every dog progresses at their own pace, but the goal is always the same: calmer care, clearer communication, and greater trust.
That’s exactly why the foundation course is included. If something feels difficult, you can return to foundation games and build skills gradually before progressing again.
