In this week’s AbsoluteDogs TV Episode, we discuss:
Do you want your dog to master interactions with people?
Setting your dog up for success can encourage the right behaviour choices in the situation vs. waiting for failure to address it.
No more thinking “Will this work?” but rather knowing it will work because of the training and management you’ve put in place.
Navigating dog-people interactions can be tricky. Rehearsal in advance, awareness that advocating for your dog can be uncomfortable and necessary, as well as identifying when a situation may not be ideal are all incredibly important to setting your dog up for success.
Repeat after us, “My dog won’t enjoy that experience.” Even if your dog will, recognising they may not make the best choices is key.
